Gizzy Summer Street Food Festival

Street food is a fantastic way to sample a range of cuisines and food styles without getting too full – and without spending a bundle! The Gisborne region is home to a huge range of local growers and food producers, and the Gizzy Summer Street Food Festival is where they all come together to give customers a taste. From sushi to ice cream, sausages to pork buns, you’ll find an absolute smorgasbord of flavours – and the best part is that nothing is over $5. Running from 4.30-7pm on the 5th of December, it’s much more than a meal.

East Coast Vibes

For any music lover, the East Coast Vibes concert has established itself as a destination venue for the past 4 years, and it’s summer 2016 line up is set to continue a proud tradition of locally produced soul, roots and reggae music. Artists include Kora, Katchafire, Ardijah and Savage, ensuring a fantastic day out for anyone over 18. Taking place on the 4th of January, you’ll want to purchase a ticket well in advance – earlybird specials make this an even better value concert.

Sunflower Camping

Love camping? Love sunflowers? For a few days during the summer, you can camp amongst the massive fields of sunflowers grown at Woodlands Camping ground if you book a space in advance. Wake up surrounded by amazing sunny flowers, and enjoy the fully equipped camping grounds.

Gospel Roots

For an all-ages musical day out, the Gospel Roots festival brings gospel music to the open air and livens it up with access to pools, a theme park, and of course incredible singing acts both local and international. The festival takes place across multiple days, running from the 15th – 17th January, and it’s recommended you book your tickets in advance to ensure admission.
