“Pleasant surprise” (Reviewed 25 April 2015)
We stayed there last week for two days and were pleasantly surprised at how nice this accommodation is for the price paid. Absolute best value for money motel we have stayed in and we travel lots!! We arrived late and the owner had seen this on our booking so as it was a cold night he had our radiator on so our room was already warm on arrival. Lovely staff, comfortable and immaculate room. We lived in Gisborne for 3 years and had no idea this motel was such a little gem

I recently went to Gisborne with a group of friends for a mini reunion. We all managed to get a booking at the same hotel for the duration of the stay. From the moment we arrived the staff at the hotel were friendly, welcoming and made our trip and experience wonderful. The rooms were clean and serviced daily and staff were accommodating with every request (and when you have over 25 people in one group including children this can be quite challenging). The motel also has bikes and scooters available for guests.
Overall I would highly recommend Oasis Motel (two thumbs up)!

This hotel is an absolute bargain. Located a 4 minute drive to the town centre it has everything we could ask for. Fresh milk and a drink on arrival, pool, laundry and push bikes all at our disposal. Room was large, bed was amazingly comfortable. Shower worked well! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling through Gisborne. Staff are warm and welcoming and nothing is too difficult. The Oasis Motel is about 5 minutes drive from the centre of Gisborne on the Northern outskirts of the town. We two stayed here for two nights in March 2015 and were struck by the friendly and very helpful welcome, including several telephone calls to find us a late restaurant.
Our studio apartment was very well furnished in modern style, including a Playstation and large TV aimed at the bed – no sofa, but table and two comfortable dining chairs. There is a capsule coffee machine with two complimentary capsules, as well as the usual tea, coffee and chocolate sachets. Extra capsules can be purchased at reception, where they also have a huge library of DVDs. The bathroom includes a two-person spa bath (works well) with shower over. All better than average in this price bracket.
Wifi (complimentary) was stronger and faster than we have experienced anywhere – even at home!

We found everything about Motel Oasis to be very pleasing. We were given a friendly welcome and an explanation of all that was on offer at the motel. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped for simple self catering.
I did feel that the management/owners are trying really hard to provide a good service and so much is included. There is a washer and dryer at no charge and no charge for soap powder. Wifi is good and free. Bicycles are available and free to use.
It is a few minutes drive into town and an even shorter drive or walk down to sponge bay. There are plenty of places to eat in town and a good selection of shops.
We enjoyed our two night stay at Oasis and can’t fault it at all.

Just Checked in into this lovely Motel. The room is comfortable clean and the location is quiet. The staff is very friendly and very hospitable. The lady at check-in was very nice, Provided us all information we need. The room had everything we need a TV, Aircon, and PlayStation…Yes a PlayStation…What else you need. Free laundry, free internet, free use of bikes. Inroom Spa.

“Well presented, relaxing stay” (Reviewed 21 January 2015)
Such a lovely place just outside of Gisborne and close to Wainui Beach. The room was so well presented and the pool was a treat on the hot summers day. Lovely and accommodating staff ensuring access on our very late arrival. Absolutely all you needed in the room including a very comfortable bed!…..
I have and will highly recommend to anyone!

Booked this Motel cause I thought that ‘you can’t go wrong with $99′ but was pleasantly shocked to find that the pictures of Motel Oasis weren’t photoshopped and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The wifi was maybe the fastest and most reliable I ever used in a public place!

Make sure you book your next stay at Oasis Motel, great service, excellent rooms clan and modern, bonus play station 2 in the room which was great and they have a great range of games to select from, quiet location, close to the beach, very friendly hosts, who deserve a mention,they really make this place awesome……have stayed in two other motels in Gisborne the Oasis is the best by far in my opinion.
Room Tip:If you have a family great to have the play station option to keep the kids occupied, beach is only…

Beautiful hotel with a very friendly and welcoming feel. Staff is genuinely here to help and make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Special features include an amazing range of movies and play station games, for those that wish to stay in. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Nothing disappoints.

Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Clean, spacious room and even a spa bath. WiFi very fast and on top of SKY there were Playstation games and DVDs on offer. Would love to come back in the summer to try the local beach and the pool.

We stayed 2 nights in Gisborne driving to Bay of Plenty via the Waioeka Gorge. WOW, the real NZ. When one wants value for $ and wishes quiet tidy clean & friendly motel accommodation, THIS is the place. It’s a MOTEL; one drives in and parks outside the room. Old fashioned Kiwi welcome with a little bottle of milk for the room. Make one’s OWN cuppa. Basic self contained accommodation with a little fridge, microwave, toaster, a GREAT shower!, comfy bed, crystal clear TV which works well on ALL channels, picnic table outside & a swimming pool which was closed for the season. Well managed & maintained property gets our top rating in it’s class.
